Bay Head Beaches

 Bay Head

The big decision when visiting the Jersey Shore, is which of the many beaches your family will enjoy.  I have purchased passes for different beaches over the years, and beach hopped some summers.  The answer to the question, “Which is the best Jersey Shore beach to visit?’. This depends on the needs and expectations of a family trip to the beach.

This is one of those years where the weather hasn’t been in our favor, and the last thing on our minds was choosing a beach for the summer with having  four days of sunshine in June.  In recent days, when the weather is right, our family hits the beaches in Bay Head.  There is no boardwalk, so access is easy on and off, and without the food, games and entertainment, it tends to be less crowded.

Bay Head

Badges for any of the beaches in Bay Head are as follows(June 20th through Labor Day):

$6 Daily Adults 12 and up

Free Children under 12

$65 Season Badge 12 and up

*Lifeguards are on duty from 10 am to 5:25 pm daily

Bay Head

Badges can be purchased in town at the Bay Head Improvement Association(B.H.I.A) building, located on the corner of Lake Avenue and Mount Street.  Beaches are surrounded by quiet residential neighborhoods.  There are no public restrooms and food is not allowed with the exception of water(keeping  it very clean).  It is a short walk into town from any beach access point, where visitors can grab a quick bite or sit down for a meal and enjoy the shops in the business district.  For our family, it’s just a nice day at the beach.Bay Head

The Historic Grenville Hotel and Restaurant Mother’s Day Brunch

   grenville

Mother’s Day is only days away(exactly 4), but it’s not too late to plan for brunch with mom at the Jersey Shore.  Why not plan a trip to Bay Head, New Jersey, and reserve a table at the Historical Grenville Hotel and Restaurant  for their Mother’s Day brunch buffet.  We planned our Easter brunch there, and my family had a great time.  The food was good, the staff was great, and they didn’t seem to notice my children playing musical chairs at the table or hiding beneath the tablecloth.  Really, I would tell you about it, but it’s still too painful to talk aboutgrenville

The Grenville Hotel and Restaurant is located at 345 Main Ave(35 south) in Bay Head.  The Victorian home is one block from the Ocean and easy to notice standing tall above the street with it’s huge wrap around porch.  It really is a beautiful building.

Brunch will be served buffet from 9:30 a.m to 12 p.m.  The cost is $29.99 per person, $14.99 for children, and the adult meal includes a complimentary Mimosa.  The buffet will have an Omlette station, breakfast and lunch items.  There will be dinner service for Mother’s Day from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dinner will be an A La Carte menu, and can be viewed on the Grenville website.
