Jenkinson’s 2010 Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Spring has not quite sprung, but the planning has already begun in Point Pleasant Beach.  Easter is the Holiday that makes us all feel just a little bit closer to summer, sunshine and days spent at The Beach(did I mention I bought my flip-flops already? Buy 1 get 1 Half Off @ Vans in the Jersey Shore Outlets.  *smiles*).

On Sunday, March 28th at precisely 1 pm, Jenkinson’s Boardwalk will be hosting their Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach.  Now, if the weather is nice, it will be very crowded and the lines will be long.  However, the event is very well organized and run, and can be a lot of fun for the kids.  The key is to be prepared.  The Egg Hunt is divided into four age groups and are as follows:

Ages 0-4:  In front of Jenkinson’s Aquarium

Ages 5-6 and 7-8:  In Front of Franks Fun Center

Ages 9-10:  In front of Jenkinson’s Amusement Park

Egg Hunt participation is reserved for children only.  No Shovels or Digging Utensils.  Limit 3 Eggs per Child(a bucket is a good idea).

This is a very exciting event for the kids and a great way to spend a spring day with the family.  Many, if not all, of your favorite boardwalk eateries and arcades will be open, especially if the weather cooperates.  For more information about this event, visit Jenkinson’s on the web at http://jenkinsons.com/index.cfm.

Point Pleasant Soccer 2010 Spring Sign Ups!

Let It Snow…At The Beach

So the Holidays are over, the New Year is here… Now what?? The cold weather is a constant reminder that winter is here to stay for a while, so what can you do with your kids to keep them entertained when stuck indoors for hours at a time? I ask myself that a lot recently, and the answer is: PLENTY!

If your kids have already grown tired of their new Holiday toys, try taking them to the following places for some much-needed “out-and-about”time:

Your local Gymboree or Little Gym. I have tried both and there are age-appropriate classes for all levels, and best of all, it’s a great time for your child! Singing, dancing, rolling around… fun for everyone, and you get a tired child at the end of the hour! www.gymboree.com www.thelittlegym.com for locations near you.

Get Fired Up in Point Pleasant. This is a great spot to spend some time out of the house creating something special with your kids – and they do “Paint me” t-shirts now too! http://www.gitfireduppottery.com/

Bounce-U: We are taking a trip over here next week as I have heard rave reviews from other parents. The name explains it all… and you get to go in too! A more in-depth write-up will come after our visit! http://www.bounceu.com/party-places-for-kids/new-jersey/lakewood/

Your local Library. I live in Brielle, and the library is fantastic! There are story times for all ages, just look at the calendar and see: http://www.briellepubliclibrary.org/calendar.html And don’t forget to check the library in your own town too!

Plus, I have made a point to schedule weekly (or let’s be honest, we try for weekly but it ends up being every couple of weeks…) “play-dates” with groups of friends, and take turns hosting small “parties” for groups of 2-5 kids, which is an easy, fun way to not only expose your child(ren) to some new toys and friends, but for us moms, too!

And this morning my little girl thought it was the BEST time in the whole world to go out and play in the little bit of snow that was covering the ground, then come inside and watch Dora and Diego… Spring will be here soon, but for now I am enjoying every bit of winter.
